Micah Shrewsberry and the Penn State men’s basketball program are set to host another official visitor. Reid Ducharme, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard out of Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy is scheduled to travel to see the Nittany Lions’ program next week, Blue White Illustrated has confirmed.

Andrew Slater first reported Ducharme’s scheduled official visit to Penn State.

The visit for Ducharme will come on the heels of an official visit to Syracuse, which he began visiting on Tuesday. Notable offers along with Syracuse and Penn State include Xavier, Providence, Stanford, and Iowa, among others. Ducharme is also reportedly going to visit Xavier from June 29-July 1, according to Sports Illustrated.

Reid Ducharme’s scouting profile

Coming off a strong performance his junior season at Brewster Academy, Ducharme’s profile has risen.

From On3 national hoops recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw’s evaluation of the National Prep School Championships Semifinals Standouts:

“There is a toughness about Ducharme. He is a smooth shooter, both catch and shoot and off the two-dribble pull-up. The Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy finished with a smooth 16 points with two made threes. Ducharme is a solid area rebounder and an energetic team defender. There is a lot to like about how Ducharme plays and what he brings from the wing.”

Ducharme also has climbed in the national recruiting rankings at On3. Now ranked No. 113 nationally, he also appears at No. 122 in the On3 Consensus, its No. 24-ranked shooting guard.

Penn State’s Class of 2023 recruiting efforts

Ducharme isn’t the only On3 Top 150 prospect being recruited to Penn State in the Class of 2023.

In rankings that were updated on Monday, the Nittany Lions are also in pursuit of forward Devin Royal (No. 26), DeShawn Harris-Smith (No. 54) and Carey Booth (No. 80). Booth and Royal have both taken official visits to Penn State so far this spring.

Penn State’s Class of 2023 verbal commitments include guard Braeden Shrewsberry and point guard Logan Imes.
