Ryan Barker signed photo accompanies new Happy Valley United memberships
The swell of support for Penn State walk-on kicker Ryan Barker continues to grow. Following his 36-yard overtime kick to walk off the Nittany Lions’ 33-30 win at Southern Cal on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, that support has taken a financial turn.
On Tuesday this week, that took shape as a Landon Tengwall-backed fundraiser to bring Barker onto his podcast, with all proceeds going directly to the Chester County native. Thursday, Penn State football’s name, image, and likeness collective, Happy Valley United, added its weight to the cause.
Announced via email and social media on Thursday morning, the next 200 members to become an HVU member will receive an exclusive signed photo of Barker’s game-winning kick. Memberships are offered on a monthly basis through HVU at six tiered price points, starting at $10 monthly and going as high as $500 per month.

Ryan Barker delivers clutch performance at USC
Barker has converted his first 14 kicks as a Nittany Lion, sending home all eight of his PATs and six field goals through the past three games. The redshirt freshman earned the job in the wake of struggles for starter Sander Sahaydak to open the season, who missed three of his first five field goal attempts.

On Saturday in Los Angeles, Barker hit all four of his field goal attempts and was accountable for 15 of the Nittany Lions’ 33 points in the game. And, in the process, Barker made good on the belief he’d had for himself since arriving to Penn State as an unheralded walk-on in the program’s Class of 2023.
“It’s truly a dream come true,” said Barker. “Ever since I stepped foot here, it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do is hit a game-winning field goal. It means the world to me and my teammates. I’m just super proud of myself and being able to come in here and get the win.”
