It’s time to dive into Friday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.
Penn State tweets of the day
We start with praise for Sean Clifford. The four-year starter and record-setting quarterback at Penn State is at the NFLPA Bowl this week after competing at the Hula Bowl last weekend. He has drawn strong praise after a few practices and is one of six “intriguing prospects” at the game as picked by NFL Network’s Bridgen Condon.
“There’s a great deal of talent there,” Clifford’s coach at the game, former NFL coach Jeff Fisher, told NFLN. “When you talk about a starting quarterback at Penn State University, you talk about their experience and just to watch him here handle himself for the first couple of days of practice.”
Added an unnamed scout who spoke to Condon:
“Clifford’s played a lot of ball. You can tell that Clifford is probably the most operationally sound. He’s the most polished. He knows what he’s doing.”
