Penn State football held its annual Lift for Life event on Thursday. It marked a chance for many things, chief among them raising money for the rare disease community via Uplifting Athletes. In addition, the event inside of Holuba Hall also offered a chance for teammates to have fun in a low-key environment as a break from the summer workout grind. And, we also saw numerous newcomers for the first time since they enrolled for the start of the summer semester.

“It means a lot, especially to the kids, because, one time at that age, we all wanted to do something like this,” defensive end Chop Robinson said. It was his second Lift for Life event with the Nittany Lions. “So just being able to do that for them, and for the community around here, it’s amazing and it’s a blessing.”

It also is important to the team, too.

“It’s pretty fun because, you’re actually building a better bond with the boys,” Robinson said. “You’re being around your teammates, all your brothers, and you’re building a brotherhood around more than just football.”
