Penn State football is searching for linebackers with a thin roster for the 2022 season. But behind the scenes, four-star linebacker Abdul Carter is preparing to make an impact. The freshman-to-be sat down with host Thomas Frank Carr on the BWI Daily to talk about his game and preparation for the future.

The senior from La Salle College high school is the 128th player in the nation, according to On3, and was a force his senior season. So that’s where T-Frank begins the interview, asking Carter about how he thinks his final year of high school football turned out.

From there, he turns his attention to the current Nittany Lions and asks Carter, who recently visited Penn State, what he thought of new defensive coordinator Manny Diaz. Carter gives a favorable impression of Diaz as a person and a coach. Next, T-Frank asks what sort of conversations Diaz and Carter have had, leading to Carter’s thoughts about football and playing at Penn State.

Carter takes T-Frank through his football journey and explains what led to a breakout senior season and why he’s such a versatile player on the field.
