Storm Duck flies south to Louisville after Penn State spring
Storm Duck has found another home following a four-month stint at Penn State. Announcing his decision via Instagram, the cornerback will transfer to Louisville.
The news follows an abrupt end to his brief career with the Nittany Lions. Entering the transfer portal late last week, Duck needed just two days to pick the Cardinals as his next destination.
As it was when he picked Penn State in December, Duck will have two more seasons of eligibility remaining on his college career.
Storm Duck stopover at Penn State
Initially, all appeared well for Duck upon his arrival to Penn State in January. Committing in late December to bolster the Nittany Lions’ cornerbacks room, the second-team All-ACC selection made an instantly positive impression.

Mizzou coach sounded off
“You guys will get to know him. Storm is very business-like. Academically – we got an academic report this morning – he’s killing it,” Penn State head coach James Franklin said. “Doesn’t say a whole lot. He’s just kind of about his business. It was like that during the recruiting process with him, and it’s been that way since he got on campus. Everybody’s been really impressed.”
Even Duck himself appeared to be meshing well with the program.
“It’s just coming in and doing the right things,” Duck said this spring. “You have to go in and earn guys’ respect. That’s with everything in life. Every place you go, they can welcome you, but it takes time to earn respect. So I’m just coming in to do everything the right way.
“If guys need help with anything, I’m there to help. And if I need anything, me asking them, me asking coach, confused with something, just all that stuff. I want to come in and be the best leader I can be, show that it’s all from the heart. Coming to Penn State, you gotta be all in, so that’s where I’m at.”
Upending that trajectory, Duck will continue his college career with the Cardinals.
