Texas OL sets up Penn State official visit
Penn State offensive line coach Phil Trautwein extended a scholarship offer to Dexton (Texas) Ryan offensive lineman Marcus Garcia late last month. Now the four-star prospect has locked in his first visit to Happy Valley. Garcia will take an official visit to Penn State on the weekend of June 21.
Garcia went to Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas and Michigan this month, with his trip to Ann Arbor coming over the weekend. He has unofficial visits scheduled to Florida (April 5), Florida State (April 6) and Ole Miss (April 13).
He will also take an official visit to Nebraska on the weekend of April 26. His summer official visit schedule also features Arkansas on the weekend of May 31, Texas A&M on the weekend of June 6 and Texas Tech on the weekend of June 14.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound prospect is also a standout throwing the discus in track and field. He won the AAU Junior Olympics championship and the UTSA National Junior Olympic Championship with throws of 175-1 and 171-2.75, respectively, in the Summer of 2023. He holds a PR of 183-2.75 and hopes to clear 200 feet this spring.
