Top100 running back set to check out Penn State
Penn State has a pair of running back commitments in the Class of 2025, but Ja’Juan Seider often casts a wide net at the position to keep options open. One of his top targets will visit Happy Valley this weekend.
Elba (Ala.) Class of 2025 running back Alvin Henderson was at Georgia last weekend. He’ll visit Penn State this weekend and Miami on the 27th.
The Nittany Lions were the sixth program to offer Henderson back in November of 2021, when he was just a freshman. Since then he’s been one of the most productive running backs in prep history. Henderson has carried 532 times in three seasons for 7,274 yards and 132 touchdowns. As a junior in 2023, Henderson carried 225 times for 3,523 yards and a state-record 61 touchdowns.
Penn State landed in his Top 10 back in August along with Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee and USC. He’s well-traveled so far in his recruitment. In-state power Alabama has had him on campus nine times so far. Auburn and Florida State have each hosted him five times as well. Auburn currently leads on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but the Tigers recently lost running backs coach and recruiter Cadillac Williams.

“The reason those schools stand out are because they made time to recruit me since they offered,” Henderson said. “They have been by my school, they have made time for me on the phone and each head coach and staff has gotten to know me. Those things stood out to me.”
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound junior is inside the Top 100 of the On3 Industry rankings at No. 97 overall. He’s the No. 6 running back in the Class of 2025 and the No. 8 prospect in Alabama in the next cycle. Penn State holds commitments from Aliquippa running back Tiqwai Hayes and Texas four-star Kiandrea Barker in the Class of 2025.
