Tracing the evolution of Penn State receiver recruiting under Marques Hagans
Stop me if you’ve heard this already, but Penn State’s wide receiver room is controversial. Since Josh Gattis left the program late in the 2018 offseason, the Nittany Lions have had three wide receiver coaches, and since then, the program has had inconsistent stability at the position. The hope was that former Purdue wide receiver and Miami wideout coach Taylor Stubblefield would help fix the issue when he was hired in 2020. But at a certain point, tracing the roots of the problem back to its source isn’t helpful anymore. What’s going on now, with the players on the roster and the ones that thewhat’sis recruiting, becomes the story. So is there a change in the type of players that new position coach Marques Hagans is recruiting? Well, to understand that, we need to review the current room’s players and how they relate to the players in the Class of 2025.
