Trimmings: Five up, five down through Penn State's first half

Penn State will come out of its second bye week with a 6-0 record and six straight weeks of Big Ten play ahead of them. The next few weeks will determine whether or not the Nittany Lions are able to break through for their first College Football Playoff berth.  Along the way, we’ve seen standout performances at several positions. Some have been as expected, while others have exceeded preseason expectations. With half the season in the books, let’s take a look at five who have surpassed projections and five who still have some work to do to live up to the billing.
