Trimmings: Important spring ahead for these five Penn State defenders

Penn State will open spring practice in just a few days, and the Nittany Lions are looking for improvement all over the roster. There will be battles for starting jobs and some jostling lower on the pecking order as the team prepares for 2025.  Some players are approaching a vital five weeks leading up to not only the Blue-White Game in late April, but also with the spring Transfer Portal window looming in mid-April. How they perform or respond could determine which direction their career could go from here. Here are five defensive players — one at each position group — firmly under the microscope this spring.
