Can a TV expert nail the start time for the first three games of the Penn State season? His predictions headline today’s newsstand.

Penn State tweets of the day

Matt Sarzyniak of http://mattsarzsports.com has quickly risen from a niche website to a often-visited one by college sports fans looking to see when their teams might play. As we all know, some start times will come out in May as advertising upfronts for media companies lead to the unveiling of broadcast info for marquee matchups. Before that, Sarzyniak, who has long been accurately predicting both kick times and TV assignments, has his first picks out for the first three weeks of the college football season.

Sarzyniak suggests that the Lions will play twice at Noon and once at 3:30 p.m. ET during the non-conference portion of the schedule. He puts the Lions Aug. 30 opener with Nevada at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1. Then, he assigns Noon starts to both the Penn State clash with FIU on Sept. 6 (FOX) and its meeting with Villanova on Sept. 13 (FS1).

As a reminder, none of the times nor networks are official. But, it’s something to think about to pass the time. And, the projected assignments certainly make plenty of sense.

Quote of the day

“When I was younger, I wasn’t really into football that much, but once I started getting more into college football, Penn State definitely emerged as my team. So, just going on this visit and being offered by Coach [James] Franklin really meant a lot. Of course, it’s still early in my process, so I don’t want to lean too much on that, but it definitely meant a lot getting an offer from my team.”
