Is Boyer another sleeper at tackle for Penn State?
Penn State already secured one massive offensive tackle this week that has the potential to shoot up recruiting boards his senior year in Garrett Sexton. Now Boyer, a three-star tackle, joins the program. T-Frank sees him as that same sleeper prospect.
“Both of these guys have top-flight potential despite their ranking situation. I am curious, do you have any insight, any idea why Eagan, with the size that he has and good athleticism, is a three-star across the board? What am I missing here?” T-Frank asks Snyder.
Snyder, explains that geography has a lot to do with rankings early in the evaluation process for obvious reasons,
“So people are really focusing on rankings, but from a ranking perspective, we’re only like 40% through. There’s going to be so many more updates to come. A lot of Southern guys, we have that verified information because in California and Florida and down south, they’ve been doing camp since about mid-February now where now we’re getting up north here, It’s getting nicer.

Under Armour is going to be in Baltimore here in a few weeks. There are a couple of others, but we’re getting an opportunity now. We’re going to get a lot more verified numbers on a lot of the players Penn State’s after,” Snyder says.
Still more to come on the offensive line
Despite having two players on the outside now, Penn State isn’t done adding to the position.
“Ethan Callaway is another North Carolina guy who just now said top eight the other day; I think Penn State’s in the mix for an official visit, probably top four or five. That the one thing I’ll be curious about here moving forward now is just there are four offensive linemen.
Finally, T-Frank is impressed by the skills that Boyer brings and thinks he can be an elite player on the right side for Penn State.
“This is a left tackle prospect, but given they’ve got two of them, and I have my preferences here, and I have my druthers, I can say this is a starting right tackle in college football with that size, that length; I think he’s got good position fundamentals.”
