Few quarterbacks have ever claimed the recruiting rankings as Drew Allar did prior to enrolling at Penn State.
Now, we have a glimpse at how that happened.
Private quarterback trainer Brad Maendler posted a video of Allar’s transformation over a two-year period. He grew while his body filled out and his technique was dialed in. It led him to become a five-star by three of the four major recruiting services and a top-five passer in the Class of 2022 according to all of them.
Check it out below. Allar has an On3 NIL valuation of $101,000.
In other news, defensive lineman Joseph Appiah Darkwa has picked his new college home.
The former three-star recruit from Germany who has an On3 NIL valuation of $17,600 is transferring to Temple. He announced the news on social media Thursday. Darkwa entered the transfer portal after the 2021 season. He did not see any game action over his three seasons at Penn State.
“I’m more than grateful for @StanDraytonTU believing in me and giving me a chance to play for his team and further my education,” Darkwa wrote on Twitter. “I’m more than ready to be #TempleTuff“

Quote of the day
“Coach Franklin was just explaining that they’ve really enjoyed getting to know me, that they think I’m a great fit. During that, my dad looked over at me and we kind of knew what was coming. Coach Franklin continued then, just saying that he believes in me and that he wants to offer me.
“I looked over then at my dad and he had tears in his eyes. Honestly, I started tearing up, too. I knew that was just a massive moment in my recruitment and really my entire life. It was one of those experiences that you’ll never forget. Getting an offer from a school like Penn State is just an incredible feeling.”
