Penn State tweets of the day
We start with Bo Nickal.
Despite his opponent in the Dana White’s Contenders Series, Zach Borrego, being 1.5 pounds overweight, the former Penn State wrestling champ used his trademark strength, speed, and aggression to stop his foe in just 61 seconds. The referee called a stop to the match by submission when Borrego tapped out shortly after Nickal locked him in a rear-naked choke. It was Nickal’s second MMA win. He was not given a UFC contract to the surprise of many fans. But, his manager, Malki Kawa, had this to say:
“Guys, relax. @NoBickal could be in the ufc, but I want to get him experience. Just trust the process. Sept we do it again.”
Nickal is expected to fight again in a DWCS event this fall. He has needed less than two minutes to leave his first two pro MMA bouts victorious.
In other news, Penn State football is down a Class of 2023 commitment. The Lions lost a pledge from four-star edge and top-120 prospect Tommarion Parker on Tuesday.
“The No. 120 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus added that he felt he wasn’t 100 percent sure of his commitment at this point, and wants to take more time with his recruiting process after rushing into an early commitment,” On3’s Chad Simmons writes.

Quote of the day
“Success with Honor plays a big role in this, obviously the collective at Penn State. They just said Snap Pizza wants to work with you, and we talked. We have the same values, and they want me to do some things for them. I eat there every day. So it’s kind of like, why not? It was a no-brainer to partner with them. We have some cool stuff in the works.”
