Howard earns his spot on the Penn State recruiting roster

Like Braswell Thomas did earlier this summer, Fitz discusses how Howard needed to prove himself to the Penn State staff before the team accepted his commitment. Fitz discusses Howard’s journey from prospect to his official visit this summer. After the team missed on several high-profile receiver targets, they invited Howard back for one last shot to see if he would be a fit. Check out the video to hear how he performed in that situation.

Fitz also discusses Howard’s recruiting journey, including a bad injury before his sophomore season. The new Penn State commit has worked his way back from that moment to be a very productive player at every stop on his journey. This fall, that journey concludes at Chaminade-Madonna Prep, one of the top high schools in the country for producing talent.

But Howard’s commitment isn’t in a vacuum. While he may have earned a commitment, the wide receiver recruiting journey this summer has been tumultuous. Fitz discusses if the commitments this past week from 2026 wide receivers Jahsiear Rogers and Lavar Keys, followed by Howard, change his opinion of Marques Hagans. The Penn State receiver’s coach has been under renewed pressure after missing on in-state target Lex Cyrus, top athlete Matthew Outten and other receiver prospects who had Penn State in their final batch of schools.

Will the team continue to attack the receiver in 2025? Fitz discusses the plan post-Howard and how many players the team might try to take this cycle.
