Penn State bye week progress

After throwing for nearly 400 yards in the win over USC on Saturday, quarterback Drew Allar was a major focus of the conversation on Tuesday. Franklin says that the coaching staff and Allar have worked well together.

“I think Andy and Danny O’Brien, our quarterbacks coach, and Drew, I think are doing a really good job. I think Beau [Pribula] as well. Like I’ve mentioned before, I think, I think Drew is a year older, much more comfortable, much more confident in his role as a leader, in understanding the speed of the game, how to prepare all those things.”

“I think Danny’s done a really good job of spending time and building trust and having kind of a demeanor on the sideline that I think has been really good for him as well. And then, you know, Andy is doing a really good job of playing to Drew strengths as well as playing to our personnel strengths. I think it’s a combination of all those things.”

Wisconsin game details revealed

After the bye, Penn State hits the road again, this time heading to Wisconsin. The new-look Badgers are 4-2 and coming off a 42-7 win over Rutgers this past weekend. They’ll play Northwestern in Evanston before the showdown with the Nittany Lions on October 26. This week, we learned that the game, which will be telecast on NBC, is a night game, slated for 7:30 EST.

We’ll have complete game week coverage of the leadup to the game most fans circle as a “trap game” next week.
