Penn State has a unique September schedule, with two non-conference opponents, Bowling Green and Kent State, with an early-season bye between them. They finish off September against Illinois at home on Sept. 28. Franklin discusses his team’s preparation and focus heading into that stretch of games.

Franklin also spoke on the team’s health heading into the second game of the season against Bowling Green. Khalil Dinkins practiced on Wednesday afternoon, but the head coach said that’s not exactly an indication that he’ll play this weekend.
It’s good to hav him bac, specifically with Luke [Reynolds], so we can save some of those games. But we’re going to do what we got to do this week, to play and play well.”
