Penn State will spend most of Sunday diagnosing and trying to correct all of the issues that caused it to lose to Ohio State on Saturday. Then, it will have no choice but to put the 20-13 setback in the rearview mirror once Monday starts, as Washington week will officially be here.

“The thing we talked about is we can’t let one turn into two and turn into three,” Penn State passer Drew Allar said. “We have to right the wrongs that we made today and offensively, we’re not going to point any fingers. It wasn’t one person that blew the game for us. I’m personally going to reflect on my performance, watch the film, be hard on myself, see what I could have done better, see the things I did well, and then just have honest conversations with the coaches, see what they thought.

“It’s just going to be a lot of reflection over the next 24-36 hours. That’s our approach right now as a team. We’re going to come together as a family, because, like you said, we have a lot in front of us to still play for. Going to have to harp on the little things. We’re not going to let anything slide. Not that we have been letting anything slide but when something does pop up, we’re going to need to address it right away.”

What is the Penn State-Washington spread?

Sportsbooks started looking at the White Out week matchup sooner than the Lions will. FanDuel and DraftKings both posted the opening odds on Sunday morning. Each stuck with the number they listed on last week’s lookahead line despite the Lions’ loss while head coach Jedd Fisch’s team took out USC 26-21. The former lists Penn State as a 13.5-point favorite and puts the over/under betting total at 45.5. The latter lists a 13.5-point spread, as well. The Huskies are now 5-4 on the season and one win away from bowl eligibility.

“We’re going to do everything we can with 15 more practices,” Fisch said. “You know, that’s what my mentality is. I believe 100 percent in celebrating a season, then I hope we can celebrate it at a bowl game. But we got to go on this week against top 5 opponent on the road at 8 at night Eastern time.

“We’ve got to just go out there and we got to play our best game and then we got to come back and do it again against UCLA and then do it again against Oregon, but we got to just focus in on this one. But really proud of our guys getting 5 and 4 and giving us a position to get there.
