What time, channel is Penn State-Maryland wrestling on? Projected lineups, time, and more
No. 1 Penn State wrestling returns to the mat today in College Park. The Nittany Lions continue their Big Ten schedule on Sunday when they meet Maryland. It will mark the team’s first time in action since securing a pair of road victories last weekend at Michigan and Michigan State. The match is sold out. And, many of the fans in attendance will be clad in blue and white.
“I think it’s fun to wrestle in front of your home crowd and it’s fun to wrestle in somebody else’s home arena,” Lions coach Cael Sanderson said this week. “You just enjoy wherever you’re at and just make the most of it. And I think that you know, a big thing is not making a big deal out of either opportunitity. We just want to be ourselves regardless of where we’re at.”

What are the top bouts to watch?
Maryland is not ranked. But, the match itself will not be void of ranked matchups. The top bout on paper, assuming it starts at the traditional 125 pounds, will come toward the end of the meet. At 197 pounds, No. 1 Aaron Brooks (8-0) is set to meet No. 5 Jaxon Smith (12-2). The senior and sophomore have not met in college after the multi-time national champ bumped up a weight class this year. But, Smith is sure to give him everything he has.
Another entertaining bout should be on the docket at 149 pounds. Penn State is expected to wrestle freshman Tyler Kasak there after he missed last week’s matches due to illness. If so, it will pit InterMat’s No. 12 wrestler at that weight class opposite No. 14 Ethen Miller. And, it would put Kasak one step closer to burning his redshirt.
