What time, channel, is Penn State-Rutgers wrestling on? Projected lineups and more
The No. 1 Penn State wrestling team returns to the mat tonight. Fresh off a win over Iowa back on Friday, the Nittany Lions welcome No. 14 Rutgers to State College for their annual Bryce Jordan Center match. Eyebrows were raised when the progam picked this match as the one it would wrestle across campus from Rec Hall, but head coach Cael Sanderson explained the reasoning behind it earlier this year.
“What happened is by the time the schedule came out, some of those larger duals just weren’t available,” Sanderson said in November. “Nebraska was THON, the other one had a career fair scheduled for the Jordan Center.
“So we just said, ‘all right, Rutgers always has a great team. They always compete hard. They’re nearby. Their crowd travels. And, when we wrestle there, they always have a sold-out show. So, we figured, hey, let’s just run it and see what we can do.”
Penn State will wear alternate black and pink singlets tonight. It can win its 1,00th all-time match. And, tickets are still available. Get ready for the team’s latest Big Ten dual meet for the Lions with our match preview below.

What are the top bouts to watch?
Unlike Friday’s showdown with the Hawkeyes, there are few fireworks expected based on the projected lineups for this dual meet. That said, there will be some matches that serve as guides for seeding at the Big Ten tournament in March. One of them comes at 133 pounds, where No. 6 Aaron Nagao will battle Rutger’s No. 10 Dylan Shawver. At heavyweight, No. 8 Yara Slavikouski will try to upset No. 1 Greg Kerkvliet, or at the very least, keep it close enough to make a claim for a prime spot at the conference tournament. No. 19 Brian Soldano will hope to do the same against No. 6 Bernie Truax at 184 pound.
