When could the Penn State-Kent State kick time be announced?: Newsstand
Penn State news, notes, and updates for Sept. 9 include details on when the kick time for Kent State could be announced and more. It’s time to dive into Monday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.
Penn State tweets of the day
Penn State faces its second of two Mid-American Conference foes on the 2024 schedule next week. After surviving a scare against Bowling Green on Saturday, the Nittany Lions have a bye week before hosting Kent State on Sept. 23. The game does not yet have a kick time. When could it be announced? The Big Ten and its television partners have two options. If the contest is on the 12-day window, then its start time will come out later today. However, if it winds up on the six-day window, then it won’t be announced until either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Considering the relative low stakes of the matchup (even in light of last Saturday’s successful day for the MAC), our guess is that we will learn the time and television details around lunchtime today. As for a prediction for the start time, Noon ET or 3:30 p.m. are obvious guesses. With the Lions fulfilling the Noon BTN spot against the Falcons, we’re guessing that honor will go to Marshall-Ohio State, leaving the network’s 3:30 spot for the Nittany Lions. FS1 is a TV possibility, as well. Kent State is 0-2 and fresh off a loss to St. Francis (Pa.) as a 17.5-point favorite.

Quote of the day
“Obviously, the last two games, I’ve played no linebacker. But wherever my coach needs me, I’m gonna play. Whether that’s D-end, linebacker. Wherever I need to be, whatever down. It don’t matter. Wherever I need to be, I’m gonna play.”
