When will Penn State-Michigan start? Time, TV details announced
Penn State now knows when it will take on Michigan next Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
The Nittany Lions (6-3) and Wolverines will meet at 12:00 p.m. eastern time, the Big Ten Conference announced late Saturday night. ABC will televise the East division contest from State College. The conference decided to put Ohio State (8-1) vs. Purdue (6-3) at 3:30 p.m., which will also be on ABC.
Michigan leads the all-time series 14-10, but Penn State is riding a two-game win streak. The Wolverines last won in State College in 2015. Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin is 3-4 against Michigan during his tenure in State College.
Penn State is 6-3 following Saturday’s 31-14 win over Maryland. The Nittany Lions totaled 456 yards of total offense, including a very impressive performance from receiver Jahan Dotson, who totaled 11 receptions for 242 yards and three touchdowns. The yardage mark set a single-game Penn State record.
“Getting the ball into Jahan Dotson’s hands obviously had a huge impact on the game,” said Franklin. “Proud of our guys. First half wasn’t as pretty as we want it to be, but then you guys would have nothing to talk about. So, the second half, we came out and I thought played a lot better.”
Michigan, on the other hand, hosted Indiana at home and defeated the Hoosiers 29-7. The Wolverines are now 7-1 on the season and rank seventh in the first College Football Playoff Poll.

Cade McNamara completed 10 of 18 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns. They also totaled 188 yards rushing, including 168 yards on 27 attempts from Hassan Haskins.
Penn State has called for a ‘helmet stripe’ theme in the stands. It looks more or less like a White Out save for one stripe of fans clad in blue on the 50-yard-line. You can see the idea in the tweet below:
“Defensively tonight, as well as all year long, they’ve kept us in games and they’ve battled,” Franklin said following the Maryland win. “They’ve played really championship-level defense all year long. One of the things that was different tonight was we didn’t punt the ball as well, so [Maryland] kept getting really good field position. But then we were able to get some adjustments made at halftime, we made some of the throws that we missed in the first half, we were able to get some turnovers, and we found a way to get a win.
“Obviously the big turnover at the end was huge. Getting the ball into Jahan Dotson’s hands obviously had a huge impact on the game; a school-record 242 yards. So I’m proud of our guys. The first half wasn’t as pretty as we want it to be, but then you guys would have nothing to talk about. So the second half, we came out and I thought played a lot better.”
