Penn State plays its final Big Ten Conference road game of the season next Saturday when the Nittany Lions travel to Rutgers. Last week, the programs announced that the game would air on Big Ten Network. Now, we know when it will begin.

Kickoff has been set for 3:30 pm ET on BTN, both schools announced last Sunday morning.

The Lions are coming off of a 30-0 win over Maryland at Beaver Stadium. Running back Nicholas Singleton was fantastic in the win, and quarterback Sean Clifford set the program’s all-time passing yards record in the team’s eighth victory of the year.

“In the field position battle, we won,” Penn State coach James Franklin said. ”In the turnover battle, we tied; we had one late in the game. The penalty battle we won; didn’t necessarily feel like that, but we did.

“We won the explosive play battle, not only did we win, but also offensively, we met our goal, and defensively we met our goal.”

Rutgers, meanwhile, fell 27-21 at Michigan State. The Scarlet Knights actually outgained the Spartans 460-453 behind a two-touchdown day for RU quarterback Gavin Wismatt. But, it was not enough in the end as head coach Greg Schiano’s team dropped to 4-6 on the season. It will have to win both of its last two games to become bowl eligible.

More on Penn State-Rutgers

All-time, Penn State holds a 30-2 series advantage and has won the last 15 matchups dating back to 1989. The only one-score game since 2014 came in that season, when the Lions scored a 13-10 road win in Piscataway, N.J.

The Scarlet Knights started the season with three consecutive wins. But, it has now lost six of its last seven contests. Only two of the setbacks have been in one-score games. The rest have been blowouts.
