When will Penn State-Rutgers start? Time, TV info announced for Nov. 20 clash
The Big Ten conference has announced a kickoff time and television information for the Penn State-Rutgers game on Nov. 20.
Big Ten Network will televise the conference showdown at Beaver Stadium, which will start at Noon.
It means the Nittany Lions are playing in back-to-back Noon games, as this weekend’s tilt with Michigan also starts then. Penn State was also in that time slot for previous games during the 2021 season against Wisconsin, Villanova, and Illinois.
Penn State sits at 6-3 on the season after beating Marland 31-14 last Saturday at Capital One Field. It ended a three-game losing streak for the Nittany Lions. PSU is already bowl eligible with three regular season contests to go.
“We were able to get some adjustments made at halftime,” Penn State coach James Franklin said following the victory over the Terps. “We made some of the throws that we missed in the first half, we were able to get some turnovers, and we found a way to get a win.
“Obviously, the big turnover again was huge. Getting the ball into Jahan Dotson’s hands obviously had a huge impact on the game. Proud of our guys. First half wasn’t as pretty as we want it to be, but then you guys would have nothing to talk about. So, the second half, we came out and I thought played a lot better.”
What’s up with Rutgers?
Rutgers, on the other hand, owns a 4-5 mark and was just blasted at home opposite Wisconsin, 52-3. Head coach Greg Schiano’s team has lost four of its last five games. It has just one Big Ten win on the season, as it beat Illinois 20-14 on the road two weekends ago.
“Well, look, we’re building something here,” Schiano told reporters after the Wisconsin setback. “I didn’t take this job and think it would be this linear ascent to the top. We knew what it was going to be. We’ve done it before.
“This is disappointing after the way we played rush defense last week. It was disappointing to me. But, again, they did some things that, you know, got us a little off kilter and then it was — and then they wore it out. They did a good job until they could fix it. They kept running it.”
