Penn State fans have been eagerly waiting for the 2025 conference football schedule to be announced. Now, we know when that will happen. The Big Ten will reveal its next slate of league games on Wednesday. Big Ten Network will televise the release. The show is scheduled to air from 2-3 pm ET.

The Nittany Lions will open the 2025 season with three consecutive non-conference games, all of which will be played at Beaver Stadium. Head coach James Franklin’s 12th season in State College starts opposite Nevada on Aug. 30. It marks the first meeting between the schools. On Sept. 6, Penn State welcomes FIU to town. The Lions are 1-0 against the Panthers all-time, as they beat them in 2007. Then, on Sept. 13, PSU hosts Villanova. The sides last met in 2021.

After those three contests, the Lions will start conference play. Based on a news release from 2023 that outlined future Big Ten scheduled through 2028, Penn State will travel to Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, UCLA, and Rutgers in 2025. It will host Indiana, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Oregon. Like this year, there are expected to bye weeks again in 2025.

Penn State will face the Ducks on Sept. 27, 2025.

What will the capacity be at Beaver Stadium next fall?

That is still to be determined. A $700 million renovation project at the 107,000-seat venue starts this offseason and will be completed by the beginning of the 2027 season. It is likely that some number of seats will be lost during the work. But, where they’re located, and how many total are unavailable, is unclear at this time.

Who could the White Out opponent be?

Nothing is ever a guarantee in a day and age when three television networks are vying for the best games each week. But, unlike when UCLA visited Penn State this year for a game that started at Noon ET/9 a.m. PT, we don’t expect the Big Ten to put Oregon in a similar situation. That matchup has primetime written all over it, and thus is the clubhouse favorite by a wide margin to be the White Out game in 2025.

If a betting market for such a question existed, we don’t think oddsmakers would even bother listing a second option. But, if they did, it would probably be Nebraska.
