On3 was the last of the four major recruiting sites to update its player ratings Thursday, which means that Penn State’s Class of 2025 is also now finished in the Industry Rankings. As is often the case in recruiting, there are some big differences between the Industry average and On3’s final rankings.

While both Malachi Goodman and Andrew Olesh rate highly on all four sites, Mater Dei cornerback Daryus Dixson is the first major outlier when you compare the rankings. On3 has kept Dixson as an 89 overall three-star throughout the year, while both Rivals and 247Sports have him as a Top 100 player nationally. Additionally, ESPN has him just outside the Top 100 at No. 130 overall. That’s a major reason why Dixson is Penn State’s third-ranked player in the Industry Rankings at No. 156 nationally.

Further down, you’ll also find mixed opinions on McDonogh wide receiver Jeff Exinor. That’s partially because he’s listed at three different positions between the sites. On3 and Rivals both rate him as a three-star wide receiver. However, ESPN lists him as an athlete and has him among the ESPN300 at No. 219 nationally. Meanwhile, 247Sports has him ranked as the 11th-best tight end nationally and No. 208 overall.

At just under 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Exinor’s size will limit how fast he is overall, but he proved at the Baltimore Under Armour Camp last May that he’s a much better athlete than most give him credit for, running a laser-timed 4.65-second 40 and a 4.33-second shuttle. He also had a broad jump that surpassed 10 feet. He showed that combination of strength explosion during 1-on-1s as well, regularly beating defensive backs at the line of scrimmage.

When looking at the positional rankings, there’s a massive difference in how On3 views safety Braswell Thomas compared to the rest of the industry. After putting up some eye-catching athletic numbers at Penn State’s camp in June, the New Jersey native made a big jump at On3, climbing to an 89 overall three-star and among the Top 40 safeties in the country. He finished at No. 39 at the position. That’s substantially higher than Rivals (No. 67), ESPN (No. 88) and 247Sports (No. 121). Thomas ended up missing his senior season after suffering an injury at one of Penn State’s final camps of the summer. That made it tough for sites to move his rating much after the summer, but athletically, he’s one of the most intriguing players in the class.

Overall, Penn State is credited with 15 four-star prospects and 12 three-star prospects. Goodman’s final ranking at No. 37 nationally was just five spots shy of him earning a five-star rating.
