Penn State has seen its Class of 2024 more than double in recent weeks, but there’s still plenty of work to do in the months ahead. With nine commitments currently in the class, head coach James Franklin and his staff would like to be closer to a dozen by the time official visits start in June. Following spring practice, there’s no shortage of momentum, making that a realistic goal over the next six weeks.

There’s also no shortage of top targets still available, which was evident Monday with the release of the updated On300 for the 2024 class. The top third of the list features multiple familiar names, including DL Benedict Umeh (No. 29), OL Liam Andrews (No. 55), RB Jordan Lyle and TE Brady Prieskorn (No. 92).

It also now features one of the biggest movers in this month’s update, as cornerback Jameer Grimsley climbed from outside the On300 all the way to No. 76 nationally. The Tampa Catholic prospect is believed to have Penn State as one of his top three schools. He’ll return for an official visit June 9-11.

But he’s not the only surging prospect that Penn State has been linked with, as offensive tackle Garrett Sexton also made a massive move, climbing 128 spots to No. 115 nationally. Sexton will visit Oklahoma this upcoming weekend before announcing his decision May 1. Penn State is considered the team to beat currently.

As for Penn State’s committed players, the Nittany Lions did drop from three commitments down to two. Offensive line Cooper Cousins was previously just inside the On300 at No. 271. He now sits just outside but still has a four-star rating. The two remaining commits, CB Jon Mitchell and Ath. Quinton Martin, rank right near each other at No. 98 and No. 105, respectively.
