Penn State head coach James Franklin and his staff have totaled three commitments so far in the Class of 2025. Coming into today, offensive lineman Jaelyne Matthews was the lone member of the On300. The New Jersey offensive lineman still ranks among the nation’s best at No. 78 overall, but he’s now joined by another Garden State native and future Nittany Lion.

That’s because defensive back Omari Gaines from Shabazz High School in Newark has joined the list. Listed at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Gaines went from outside the list to No. 211 nationally. Gaines committed to Penn State on March 28 after taking five unofficial visits dating back to last year.

Running back Kiandrea Barker remains outside the On300, but he does hold a four-star rating in the On3 Industry Rankings. There’s also no shortage of other top targets who made the cut.
