Penn State put together its most complete performance of the season Saturday with a 51-15 win over Maryland on the road. However, with each of the eight teams ahead of them in the Associated Press Poll all winning as well, James Franklin’s team remains at No. 9 in the AP Top 25 heading into its biggest home game of the season against Michigan.

The Wolverines, who remain at No. 2 in the AP Poll, come into this weekend’s game undefeated at 9-0. They beat a 2-7 Purdue squad 41-13 Saturday night at home. The upcoming game against the Nittany Lions will be their first game against a ranked opponent this season.

Ohio State also stayed in the top five at No. 3 despite a shaky showing against Rutgers. The Scarlett Knights led at halftime, 9-7, but the Buckeyes went on to score four touchdowns in the final two quarters to win 35-16. Ohio State will be heavy favorites the next two weeks with back-to-back home games against Michigan State and Minnesota.

Outside of the Big Ten, Oklahoma State handed rival Oklahoma its second-straight loss to knock the Sooners down seven spots to No. 17 overall. Penn State already ranked ahead of OU in both the AP and Coaches Polls but were behind them in College Football Playoff poll. That poll, which determines not only the four playoff teams but who plays in the remaining New Year’s Six Bowls, will be updated Tuesday evening.
