Where does Penn State rank in the updated Coaches Poll?
Penn State will head into Saturday’s game against Wisconsin ranked No. 3 in the Coaches Poll. The Nittany Lions may have had the week off, but there was plenty of movement throughout the poll following another entertaining Saturday in college football.
Following Texas’ 30-15 loss at home to Georgia, the Big Ten now has the top-ranked team in the country, as Oregon is the new No. 1 following its win over Purdue on Friday night. Georgia’s win over Texas did move the Bulldogs back above the Nittany Lions to No. 2. Ohio State (No. 4) and Miami (No. 5) round out the top five.
In the Big Ten, Penn State’s win over Illinois continues to look better and better, as the Fighting Illini defeated Michigan 21-7 at home. Bret Bielema’s team is now 6-1 and remains at No. 21 in the Coaches Poll. Meanwhile, Michigan now has three losses and is outside of the Top 25. However, the biggest story of the day may have been Indiana, as the Hoosiers dominated Nebraska to stay undefeated, beating the Cornhuskers 56-7. Nebraska came into the game ranked No. 25 in the Coaches Poll but is no longer ranked. Indiana is up to No. 13.
