Penn State will head to Madison for its primetime game against Wisconsin ranked No. 3 in the updated Associated Press Poll following its final bye week of the 2024 season.

Just like in the Coaches Poll, Oregon is now the nation’s top-ranked program nationally. With Ohio State ranked No. 4, that gives the Big Ten three schools inside the top five. Georgia did leapfrog the Lions to No. 2 following an impressive 30-15 win over previous No. 1 Texas in Austin on Saturday night.

The Big Ten now has five teams inside the AP Top 25 following Michigan’s loss to Illinois. The Fighting Illini, who are now ranked No. 20, remain Penn State’s best win of the season, improving to 6-1 following its 21-7 win over the Wolverines. Michigan actually outgained Illinois (322 to 267) but turned the ball over three times. Sherrone Moore’s team is now 4-3 on the season.

Indiana remains one of the best stories in all of college football this year, improving to 7-0 following an easy 56-7 win over Nebraska. Now ranked No. 13, the Hooisers still have to play both Michigan and Ohio State in November.
