Penn State remains at No. 7 in the nation in the Associated Press Poll following yesterday’s win over Illinois. In fact, outside of Texas and Florida State flipping spots at No. 3 and 4, you won’t find much change at all until you get outside of the Top 10, as Alabama and Tennessee both dropped.
The Volunteers were once again unable to get past Florida, as the Gators scored 20 unanswered points in the second quarter to put Tennessee in a hole early. They ultimately won 29-16, dropping the Vols 12 spots to No. 23 overall.
Alabama was able to win its road game at South Florida, but considering their normal standards and where the Bulls have ranked in recent years, the 17-3 win over USF felt like a loss to many in Tuscaloosa. They now rank No. 13 nationally.
