Penn State remains at No. 7 overall in updated AP Top 25
Penn State totaled 541 yards of offense Saturday in a dominating 63-7 win over FCS foe Delaware. Head coach James Franklin used the opportunity to get many of the team’s young players valuable playing time, as more than 70 players logged snaps on offense and defense.
Now, as the Nittany Lions turn their attention to Illinois, who lost Friday night at Kansas, they’ll head into their first road game of the season at No. 7 overall in the Associated Press Poll. Penn State has held firm at that spot since the preseason poll in August.
Nationally, Texas made the biggest move, climbing seven spots to No. 4 overall after defeating Alabama in Tuscaloosa Saturday night. The Crimson Tide went in the opposite direction, falling from No. 3 to No. 10.
There was also some movement in the Big Ten. While Michigan remains the highest-ranked team at No. 2 overall, Ohio State dropped one spot to No. 6. Iowa also climbed back into the poll at No. 25 overall following its win over in-state rival Iowa State.
