It’s time to dive into Friday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with new wrestling rankings. InterMat released a fresh batch before the No. 1 Nittany Lions take on No. 4 Nebraska on Sunday. Head coach Cael Sanderson’s team can clinch the Big Ten regular season daul meet title by taking out the Cornhuskers after thumping Rutgers at the Bryce Jordan Center back on Monday.

“Nebraska is, I mean, a lot of these Big Ten teams have all been very similar,” Sanderson said this week. “I mean, we just have to go be ourselves and wrestle and score those tough points and win tough matches, because they do have a really good team. They always do. Nebraska is always a really tough team. We’re looking forward to that match. I think it’s not like a surprise or anything. Looking at them coming into the season and what they’ve done for as long as I’ve been involved in college wrestling, they’re always one of the top programs.”

Do note that the second NCAA coaches poll and first RPI rankings are out, but with dual meets left to wrestle, those are not yet completely full of competitors who would otherwise be in them but aren’t due to not yet having the required number of matches.
