Penn State tweets of the day
The first CFP rankings from the selection committee come out tonight. ESPN will air the rankings release show at 7 p.m. ET. Where will Penn State land? A smattering of media projections are in. The Athletic puts the Lions at No. 7 and projects them to host No. 10 Notre Dame in the first round. John Leuzzi at USA Today, meanwhile, has the same matchup but puts PSU at No. 8 and the Fighting Irish at No. 9. College Football News also puts the Lions at No. 8.
“There’s not a fantastic win to get fired up about, but the team held its own against Ohio State,” Pete Fiutak writes. “There’s no projecting with the CFP, but this will be a top 10 ranking on talent.”
ESPN’s Heather Dinich puts the Lions at No. 7.
“Penn State had opportunities to beat Ohio State at home, but the Buckeyes were better and faster,” she writes. “It wasn’t pretty, but it was at least competitive and not a lopsided loss. The Nittany Lions don’t have much on the rest of their schedule to help compensate for it. Four road wins are against teams that each have at least three losses.”

Quote of the day
“We showed them some clips of just the energy and the passion to expect. But on the same token, we’ve had really great crowds. You know, every game we played this year, Iowa was sold out, Indiana was sold out. So, yeah, it’s going to be a sell out with double the amount of people as those groups. But in the same token, we just gotta go play ball and try to see if we can play the best game we played all year.”
—Washington coach Jedd Fisch on playing PSU in the White Out game this weekend.
