Penn State meets Rutgers on Saturday. It is the Lions’ penultimate game of the regular season and its final one at Beaver Stadium. Thus, Senior Day festivities will be held on the field before the Noon ET kickoff on Fox Sports 1 (Note: Live stream on Fubo! with this limited-time offer: $40 off Fubo’s Pro, Elite and Premier plans by clicking here!). Now, we know who will participate in the annual tradition.
Before we get to the list, it’s important to note this disclaimer: Unlike before COVID, a player being honored during Senior Day does not guarantee he will not be back for the 2024 season. While examples are few and far between, we have seen some Nittany Lions since 2020 come back after doing so and ultimately participating in two Senior Day events before leaving school. So, keep that in mind while reviewing the list below.
“Our players talk a lot about, when they come here, either as a freshman or a transfer, how good from a cultural standpoint that our vets are with the young guys,” Lions coach James Franklin said this week. “And, it’s not like that every place. Our guys do a really good job of that. So I think there’s a pretty consistent sense of appreciation throughout the locker room for those guys and wanting to send them out the right way. It’s an emotional day.” It’s kind of a weird day since COVID … it’s not as black and white as it used to be for some guys [because some have extra eligibility].
“But I just think there’s a sense of appreciation of sending those guys out the right way, out of our stadium, our last last game and Beaver Stadium, not our last game overall. But, I there’s a sense of appreciation and respect for those guys.”

Final word
Franklin, on the experience he hopes his seniors have on Saturday:
“I hope a great one. I hope it’s a great environment, [and] I hope the fans show their appreciation for all the hard work that these guys have put in representing the university the right way both on and off the field. So, yeah, I would love for them to get a feel for the sense of appreciation that we have for them. Play well, get a win, all those things included.”
