Ari Wasserman, who covers college football nationally for On3 and is the co-host of the Andy & Ari On3 show on YouTube, took a crack at predicting who will earn All-American status in 2025. Only one Nittany Lion made the cut: Running back Nicholas Singleton.
“Singleton is one of two Penn State running backs who could have been on this list,” Wasserman writes. “The other is Kaytron Allen, who also returns to the Nittany Lions to form the best offensive backfield in college football. Singleton’s versatility, though, is what gave him the nod on this list over Allen and a bunch of other elite-level running backs. In 2024, Singleton rushed for 1,099 yards — averaging more than 6 yards per carry. He also hauled in 41 catches and scored 17 total touchdowns.”
Penn State 2025 opponents who are on the list include second-team running back Makhi Hughes of Oregon, first-team receiver Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State, second-team receiver Elijah Surratt of Indiana, second-team guard Emmanuel Pregnon of Oregon, first-team safety Caleb Downs of Ohio State, and first-team cornerback D’Angelo Ponds of Indiana.

“Some may look at Ponds’ stature and not anticipate he’s one of the best cornerbacks in the country,” Wasserman writes. “But don’t let the 5-foot-9 height fool you. Ponds can jump through a building and run through a wall. A second-team All-American by the FWAA last year, Ponds returns to Indiana and figures to be one of the best defenders in college football.”

Penn State’s Tyler Warren: Theo Johnson ‘helped me out a lot’: Citak, Giants.com
Quote of the day
“We have some similarities, we have some differences. Theo is as athletic of a tight end as you’ll find, can run great routes, and he’s a really fast guy. So, he might be a little higher up on that scale, and I do a little bit more of everything. But he helped me out a lot and I couldn’t say enough good things about Theo and what he’s meant to me through my process of being a football player.”
