Which Penn State players made one of the Big Ten all-conference teams on offense?
Penn State did not have an All-Big Ten first-team pick on Wednesday when the conference revealed its honors for players on offense. But, the Lions can claim the league’s freshman of the year and also a few second- and third-team selections on that side of the ball.
Running back Nicholas Singleton leads the way. He was named the Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year and also made the All-Big Ten third team after running 149 times for 941 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Lions tackle Olu Fashanu was a second-team selection by the coaches and third-team by the media. He missed time in November due to injury but was still graded as one of the top blockers in the Big Ten by Pro Football Focus. He announced on Monday that he will return to Penn State in 2023.
“Although playing in the NFL is a goal of mine, there is still more that I want to achieve personally and collectively as a program,” Fashanu said in a tweeted statement.
“After several conversations with my parents and coaches, I will be returning to Penn State for the 2023 season. I want to thank my family, teammates and coaches who have helped me get to this point in my life. My work here is far from over and I look forward to getting back to work with my brothers.”
