I always knew that there would come a time in my life that I would need to bet on myself in order to go where I wanted to professionally. For most broadcasters that comes early in their career when they go to some far-flung town in Iowa or Montana in order to sharpen their skills in a small market before taking the next step. I took a different path. Little did I know it would to today and On3.

After graduating from Penn State with a degree in broadcasting, I took a job locally just to get my foot in the door in local radio because I wanted to start working on something I cared about right away – football. After eight years of learning and growing as a broadcaster, the time was now or never to make a leap. I left that job in February betting that as America came out of the pandemic and football was played again, there would be new opportunities and I wanted to be the first in line.

Little did I know that only a few short months later I would be approached by Blue White Illustrated, who I’ve worked for the past several seasons, about the potential for more. Once I heard about On3, the revolutionary database they’re building, and the opportunity it presented, I knew this was the moment and the opportunity.

I threw my heart and soul into building the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel, pulling on every skill, talent and hobby I had in order to make something truly different and unique in the Penn State marketplace. Thanks to your support and interest in what we are building, I now am a full-time member of the BWI Staff and officially as of this post, a full-time member of On3.

So why On3? I think former CEO of ESPN and current Meadowlark Media CEO John Skipper summed it up best, “I care about doing things that people on the receiving end, it matters to them. I want to work on things that matter to people.”

On3 is about changing the game of high school and college sports coverage. They’re focused on pushing things forward, not just resting on what has been. They’re about doing things that matter and I want to be a part of that. You don’t need to be on the ground floor of every opportunity, just the right one.
