Will Yvan Kemajou pick Penn State today? The Class of 2025 recruit is ready to decide
Another recent Penn State Lasch Bash visitor is ready to announce his college choice. Class of 2025 defensive lineman Yvan Kemajou will pick between his finalists this afternoon. The Nittany Lions are one of them, of course, for the 6-foot-3, 240-pound three-star. Whoever lands the senior will be getting the nation’s No. 456 player and No. 42 player at his position. Head coach James Franklin’s team looks to add another commitment to close out July after adding two last weekend in the Class of 2026 in addition to two Class of 2025 players earlier this month. Will they do so? We break down Kemajou’s announcement below. It’s the first of two involving the Nittany Lions today, as 2026 target Daniel Jennings, a defensive lineman from West Virginia, announces tonight.
Recapping Kemajou’s recruitment
Kemajou’s recruitment kicked off in January of 2023 when Charlotte became the first school to offer him. The Burtonsville, Md., Paint Branch defender would then have to wait until November of that year before Virginia Tech and Maryland joined the mix. Penn State followed in short order on Dec. 8, 2023. Nearly 20 programs would ultimately extend Kemajou an opportunity to play for them. Only the Nittany Lions who host him for an unofficial visit, though, in Jan. 2024 before he later took official visits.
Who are the finalists besides Penn State?
Kemajou has yet to announce a list of finalists. But, his official visit schedule indicates who he was serious enough about, and vice versa, this summer. Northwestern hosted him first back in early May. Penn State then had him on campus during the final weekend of that month. Then, in June, the defender took 48-hour all-expenses-paid trips to see Rutgers, Duke, Indiana, and Virginia Tech. Only one program hosted him during the lone quiet period of July, though, and that was the Nittany Lions for last weekend’s Lasch Bash.
