Penn State appears to be down a Class of 2023 commitment.

Lansdale, Pa., North Penn receiver Yazeed Haynes has reopened his recruitment. The decision comes more than a month after he initially committed to the Nittany Lions on June 12 of this year. Haynes removed the ‘Penn State football commit’ tag line from his Twitter account sometime Monday. But, buzz started building over the weekend that he might decommit.

“I came back for my visit, of course, and it just felt like home there,” Haynes told BWI when he committed. “Everyone was just so family-oriented. I loved the coaches, the players and everything about the school. Even when I was younger, Penn State was always a school I wanted to go to. So, coming up here was just the icing on the cake. I liked everything about it.”

However, his pledge lasted less than 10 weeks before all of that changed.

Georgia is now the favorite to land the 6-foot-1, 187-pound three-star recruit. The Bulldogs hosted Haynes for a camp late last month and ultimately extended an offer.

Penn State continues to have a top-10 Class of 2023. As of Monday night, the Nittany Lions have 18 verbal commitments.
