2024 Ohio 4-star athlete Koy Beasley commits to Purdue
Purdue added a dynamic athlete to its 2024 class with a commitment from Koy Beasley on Wednesday evening. He’s the 16th commitment in the Boilermakers’ Class of 2024.
“When I first visited Purdue I really liked it,” Beasley told On3. “So they’ve been up there for a while. The official visit really put them over the edge.
“I feel like the staff, the coaching, my relationship with the coaches made Purdue the best fit. I feel like they’re really building something special at Purdue. I just want to be a part of that.”
The 5-11, 180-pound Beasley is a four-star prospect from LaSalle High in Cincinnati who took an official visit to West Lafayette last weekend. He tabbed the Boilermakers over offers from Wisconsin and Pitt, among others, joining Ryan Walters‘ program.
“It was fun, it was stressful. It was a little bit of both,” Beasley told On3 about the recruiting process. “It was a long process, I had a lot of schools. I’m really glad to get over it and really find a place that was for me. The best fit for me, I believe.”

Listed by most recruiting services as a defensive back, Beasley will join the program as an “athlete,” able to play either side of the ball. He figures to begin his Purdue career as a wideout, joining a Boilermaker 2024 class that includes wideouts Jesse Watson, Keonde Henry and Shamar Rigby.
Purdue already has a robust collection of defensive backs in its 2024 class: Earl Kulp, Luke Williams, Hudauri Hines, D’Mon Marable and Jo’Ziah Edmond.
“Coach Walters, I feel like he can really build Purdue and lead them to championships,” Beasley told On3. “He’s a defensive-minded coach, he helps develop guys. He cares about you and he wants to win, so I really like that.”
