2025 Ohio ILB Grant Beerman flips from Purdue to Illinois
Purdue’s 2025 recruiting class took another hit today when Ohio ILB Grant Beerman announced he’s de-committng from the Boilermakers and committing to Illinois.
The uncertainty surrounding the Boilermaker coaching staff caused Beerman unease, as he has forged a strong bond with Purdue DC Kevin Kane. Beerman had taken a trip to Illinois earlier this month and also had Duke making a push for his pledge. The rangy product of Lakota West High in West Chester, Ohio, is headed to Illinois.

Beerman is the fifth member of the Boilermakers’ 2025 class to de-commit: Drayden Pavey (Wisconsin commit); WR Lebron Hill (Vanderbilt), OL Takhyian Whitset (N.C. State). CB Dawayne Galloway has de-committed but not chosen a school.
Beerman, a four-star recruit, committed to Purdue on July 6, picking the Boilers over Michigan State, West Virginia and Cincinnati.
Purdue has 11 2025 commits. Early Signing Day is December 4.
