As we look forward to the Big Ten Tournament for the regular season champion Purdue Boilermakers, men’s hoops are discussed in detail with GoldandBlack.com’s Mike Carmin.

Carmin and GoldandBlack.com publisher Alan Karpick break down the likelihood of a team that plays on Wednesday making it to Saturday, what it will take for Purdue to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, Zach Edey’s road to Big Ten MVP and Carmin’s feelings on who should have been Big Ten coach-of-the-year.

In addition, Carmin and Karpick discuss whether this is one of the closest teams from a camaraderie standpoint that either has been around and which might be better for the Boilermakers–a No. 1 seed in the New York Regional or closer to home in Lafayette. Carmin also reminds Purdue fans that they shouldn’t “lose their minds” regarding the possibility of a Round of 32 matchup with John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats.

“There is a long way to go before that happens, as a lot can happen between now and Selection Sunday,” said Carmin, who likes Purdue’s chances for being a No. 1 seed if it gets to the Big Ten Tournament championship game on Sunday. Carmin also give a Purdue-IU matchup in the title game as a 50/50 chance or better of happening.

We want to thank our sponsor acrepro.com for supporting GoldandBlack.com and our weekday simulcast.

Expect Buy/Sell to be on either Tuesday or Wednesday for as long as Purdue is still alive in the post season.
