Arizona State QB Bennett Meredith headed to Purdue
Purdue has landed its backup quarterback, netting a commitment from Arizona State’s Bennett Meredith on Sunday.
Meredith redshirted in 2022 in Tempe, leaving the Class of 2022 product with four seasons of eligibility. He enjoyed an impressive spring for the Sun Devils but was caught up in a crowded quarterback room in Tempe under new Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham.
Meredith entered the portal on April 17 after ASU’s spring game. He subsequently committed to Charlotte on April 29. Now, over a week later, Meredith is headed to Purdue, where he will back-up No. 1 signal-caller Hudson Card.
The Boilermakers’ other scholarship quarterback is true freshman Ryan Browne. Purdue saw Brady Allen hit the portal after spring ball.

The 6-3, 195-pound Meredith committed to the Sun Devils as a three-star prospect out of Hoover (Ala.) High in December 2021. He threw for 5,318 yards and 47 touchdowns in his two seasons as the starting quarterback.
He originally committed to Northwestern in October 2021, de-committed two months later and then picked Arizona State over Maryland.
