As expected, Purdue heads back to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed
With a 29-4 record and a Big Ten regular season title in hand, No. 3 Purdue, to no one’s surprise, has again earned a No. 1 seed to the NCAA seed, its second in as many years.
Its path starts an hour down the road in Indianapolis, to open the Midwest regional Friday against either Montana State or Grambling State, who’ll meet in Dayton. Should Purdue advance to the second weekend, it would play through Detroit.
A Round 2 matchup would be TCU or Utah State in Indy.
The 2 seed in Purdue’s region is Tennessee, who the Boilermakers have played often in recent years. Creighton is the 3 seed, Kansas the 4 and Gonzaga the 5.
