Black Friday will mean more than just shopping for Purdue fans. It also will mean football, as the Boilermakers will battle Indiana for the Old Oaken Bucket on Nov. 28.

The annual rivalry will be under the lights of Ross-Ade Stadium with a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC.

Purdue and Indiana met on a Friday one other time: In 1995, when the Boilermakers routed the Hoosiers 51-14 behind Mike Alstott’s 264 yards rushing and three TDs.

Purdue will be looking for revenge after suffering a 66-0 defeat in Bloomington last season, the worst loss in school history. Prior to that defeat, the Boilers had won three in a row and five of six vs. the Hoosiers, who are coming off an 11-2 record and appearance in the College Football Playoff.

The Boilermakers have played on Friday 15 times, recording a 5-9-1 record. Eight of those games have been night games and only three have been in Ross-Ade Stadium.

For the first time in program history, the Boilermakers played two Friday games last year, falling at home to Oregon and at Michigan State.

Purdue also will play Southern Illinois at night on Sept. 6 in Ross-Ade Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET. on BTN

Purdue also learned who will be its Homecoming foe: Rutgers on Oct. 25. Kickoff time is TBA. The Boilermakers are 0-2 all-time vs. the Scarlet Knights, who joined the Big Ten in 2014. RU took the last meeting, 37-30, in 2020 in West Lafayette.

Start times also were announced for the following games:

• Aug. 30 vs. Ball State, Noon ET, BTN

• Sept. 13 vs. USC, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS

• Oct. 11 at Minnesota, 7/7:30 p.m. ET, TV TBA

It was announced earlier that the Purdue at Notre Dame will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
