Grades and notes:
- Perhaps surprisingly, Purdue’s best grades on offense came in pass-blocking. Nice grades for Hartwig and Stewart to lead the way for the offensive line, and Mockobee graded well here too
- Big discrepancy in snaps at running back, with Mockobee taking a much bigger share than Love. This has been closer to 50/50 all season. Nice grade for Mockobee, who never stops competing
- Very mediocre run-blocking grades across the board for Purdue. Hartwig had a nice day, while Mbow’s grade came back more middling.
- Some different personnel usage: Elijah Jackson, Bakyne Coly, Ben Furtney saw action early on.
- Nothing noteworthy from the receiving corps. The only drop was charged to Edrine. Lots of rotation here with seven wideouts getting ten snaps or more.
- One of Card’s poorer grades from his time in West Lafayette.
Hudson Card’s passing chart:
- Clean: 9-15, 92 yards
- Under pressure: 2-6, 19 yards
- Not blitzed: 9-15, 86 yards
- Blitzed: 2-6, 25 yards
- Play action: 3-6, 50 yards
- No play action: 8-15, 61 yards
- Screen: 3-3, 29 yards
- No screen: 8-18, 82 yards
- Card’s average depth of target: 9.4 yards downfield
- A mere 5.3 yards per attempt
- No “big-time throws” nor any “turnover-worthy throws”
- Card finished 1-7 on passes of 10+ yards downfield
Running game:
- Sack adjusted, Purdue did average 5.5 yards per carry
- Purdue only forced three missed tackles by Wisconsin defenders
- Jaheim Merriweather’s 35-yard carry before a fumble marked the longest run of the day. Past that? A 13-yard scamper by Card.
- 57 of 126 yards came after contact.

- Middling grades from Purude’s pass rush, which struggled to pressure Locke.
- Outside of Brevard, less than stellar grades for Purdue’s defensive front
- Same deal with pass coverage.
