Detroit Cass Tech caravan rolls through Purdue
The Detroit Cass Tech caravan has been racking up the miles.
“I’m not even sure how many so far,” said Cass Tech head coach Marvin Rushing. “But I do know I need to get our van in for an oil change before we head back toward Detroit.”
Rushing has had 13 of his players in tow as they travel for eight days to visit football programs during spring break. The tour, which will hit 17 schools, began at Michigan on March 26 and will end at Michigan State on April 2. On March 27, the Cass Tech caravan stopped by to visit Purdue.
“It has been a good trip,” said Rushing.
Cass Tech’s caravan includes several high-end prospects led by 2025 WR/CB Alex Graham, who earned a Purdue offer on his stop in West Lafayette. Graham is not related to ex-Purdue LB Jalen Graham, a Cass Tech alum who hopes to be selected in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In addition to Graham, other top prospects on the Cass Tech tour are 2026 QB Corey Sadler, Jr., and 2026 DL Khalief Canty, Jr.
“They’re legit,” said Rushing. “They’re legit. They’re Power Five guys. All three I think have the ability to play on Sundays.”

Rushing came away impressed with Purdue.
“I had the opportunity to meet (associate head coach/receivers) Coach Cory Patterson in January,” he said. “Came by our school with Coach (Ryan) Walters. Really impressed by him, the energy, just his demeanor.
“Just got a great vibe from him. When I told him we were going to come down and visit, he said he would show us an A-1 experience. I wasn’t expecting them to go out the way they did.”
What did Purdue do?
“When we arrived, they had the whole freakin’ football complex there to greet us,” said Rushing. “I did like the energy. I liked the vibe. Coach Walters is building something special. He said it. I’ll be honest, I believe it. I believe it. It’s just a culture. It’s the type of man he’s trying to bring him. But more importantly, the type of man he’s hired. I think Purdue is set up to do some special things in the very near future.”
